Abstract Extreme temperatures are predicted to become increasingly common due climate change, threatening the sustainability and profitability of global rice production. Manure amendment is a agricultural practice improve soil fertility increase crop yields, but whether this modulates effect extreme on yield unclear. Here we show through series experiments meta-analysis that long-term manure reduces losses temperatures. We propose by increasing fertility, increased net photosynthetic rate plant physiological resistance Without considering impact other change factors, estimate could potentially reduce from 33.6 25.1%. Thus, our findings indicate may play key role in improving food security changing climate.
